When it comes to advancing my work, I've known that connecting with a major research institution with strengths in the arts, environmental studies, and research is important. So you can imagine how thrilled I was when I received an invitation for an interview from the Vice Provost for Arts and Humanities and the Director of the Arts and Humanities Council at Indiana University. I was nominated by Melanie Pennington. I highly recommend Checking out Melanies thought provoking mammalian sculptures.
I am incredibly grateful and honored to have received an invitation from Indiana University to join their prestigious Artist-in-Residency program. This incredible opportunity allows me to collaborate with brilliant minds, immerse myself in extensive research archives, and utilize state-of-the-art creative facilities. In return, I will have the privilege of sharing my unique perspectives and experiences with the talented students and faculty. Indiana University has recently launched groundbreaking initiatives such as the Environmental Resilience Institute and the Environmental Futures A&H laboratory, where participants delve into themes and issues central to my artistic practice. I am beyond excited to connect with like-minded individuals who share my passion and curiosity for the arts.
I will document the journey and how it shapes my art practice to change society to support our rich and beautiful planet.
